SUSTAINABILITY CONSULTANT — VICTORIA

Full-time — Metro Melbourne / Hybrid

As one of Melbourne’s earliest established sustainability practices, Sustainable Development Consultants (SDC) is committed to assisting architects, designers and developers in producing exceptional built environments. THE OPPORTUNITY

SDC’s expertise is broad and our impact is far-reaching. Our capability, honed over 20 years of innovation and project delivery, covers the simple to the rigorous and complex. This role will see you working as an important part of our passionate and motivated team, providing excellent service and tangible results.

Supported by our Directors and our experienced sustainability specialists,
you’ll assist leading design and construction teams in achieving and exceeding sustainability ratings, performance, efficiency and comfort across a wide range of projects.

Your success path will look like this:

3 months:

– Settle well into the role
– Progress your skills and understand how SDC delivers their ESD services
– Actively contribute as part of the SDC team to projects

6 months:

– Continue to actively contribute with the team to service clients and projects
– Expand your knowledge of all things ESD, and/or hone your expertise in a specialist area

12 months:

– Hone effective time management skills (projects, development/research, assisting others)
– Develop a deep understanding and confidence in your work, advancing towards the next path in your career with us.

YOU’RE WELL SUITED TO THE ROLE IF YOU HAVE:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years relevant working experience in ESD
  • Have experience in and knowledge of at least one or more of the following:

    – Energy ratings (FirstRate / HERO)
    – Energy modelling assessments using DesignBuilder software (Energy & Daylight), or a similar modelling tool
    – Green Star tools and projects

  • Have a qualification in design, environmental or building engineering (or a related field)
  • Are an excellent verbal and written communicator (we’re a client-facing consulting service after all)

– a commitment to improving the overall performance of buildings.

WORK HOW YOU WORK BEST, WHERE YOU WORK BEST.

SDC’s effective 75-hour working fortnight means you have flexibility around working 9 or 10 days per fortnight. This flexibility extends to the hours you work each day, as well as your start and finish times.

Our bright, open-plan Melbourne office located in the heart of Camberwell is close to public transport, central to a vast array of amenities, and has on-site parking and end-of-trip facilities also available.

Hybrid working is also on offer, allowing for a combination of in-office and remote working.
